The Foundation’s Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees will be made up of twenty-one trustees:
- The President: The Prime Minister.
- Ten trustees, representing the General State Administration:
- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
- The Minister of Justice.
- The Minister of Defence.
- The Minister of Finance and Public Administration.
- The Minister of the Interior.
- The Minister of Education, Culture and Sport.
- The Minister of Employment and Social Security.
- The Minister of the Presidency.
- The Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality.
- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior.
- Three trustees representing the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, two of them with the rank of Advisor, appointed on the motion of the said Government.
- One trustee representing the Government of the Autonomous Community of Navarre, with the rank of Advisor, appointed on the motion of the said Government.
- One trustee representing the Governments of the remaining Autonomous Communities and the Autonomous Cities of Ceuta and Melilla, with the rank of Advisor, appointed on the motion of the corresponding Autonomous Community or City, on a rotating basis for a period of one year in the order of the official publication of the Statute of Autonomy.
- The Mayor of the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
- Two trustees representing the Cortes Generales [Spanish Parliament], one appointed on the motion of the Congress of Deputies and the other on the motion of the Senate.
- Two trustees representing the victims of terrorism, who will be the President of the Fundación Víctimas del Terrorismo [Victims of Terrorism Foundation] or FVT, and one trustee appointed on the motion of the FVT, following an election, on a rotating basis for a period of one year from among the trustees who have been appointed by the associations and foundations.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee will include:
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Presidency, one of the trustees representing the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country appointed by the Board of Trustees on the motion of the said Government, a member representing the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz appointed by the Board of Trustees on the motion of the said City Council, and the President of the Fundación Víctimas del Terrorismo. Furthermore, the Executive Committee will be assisted by a Secretariat that will be taken on by the Director of the Foundation with the right to speak but not to vote.
